TRAVELING BY CAR

Most fans arrive by car, and the Speedway is designed to handle large volumes of traffic. Both free and paid parking areas are available, with attendants and police officers on-site to guide vehicles on race days.

Directions

• From I-70: Take Exit 410 at 110th Street. Follow Speedway Boulevard, where parking staff will direct you toward Talladega Drive and the designated lots.
• From the East (State Avenue): Head west until you reach the Speedway.
• From I-435: Head west on I-70 to Exit 410 at 110th Street. If congestion builds on the State Avenue exit, traffic officials may close it. In that case, use the Parallel Parkway exit. Turn left onto 110th Street (near Target and JCPenney), then follow signs back to State Avenue for Speedway parking access.

Driving time from different locations

• From Kansas City, MO (downtown) – about 20 minutes, 15 miles: Take I-70 West to Exit 410 (110th Street). Follow Speedway Boulevard toward the track.
• From Topeka, KS – about 40 minutes, 50 miles: Take I-70 East to Exit 410 (110th Street), then follow Speedway Boulevard.
• From Lawrence, KS – about 30 minutes, 25 miles: Take I-70 East to Exit 410 (110th Street), then follow signs to the Speedway.
• From Wichita, KS – about 2.5 hours, 190 miles: Take I-35 North to I-435 North, then merge onto I-70 West. Exit at 110th Street (Exit 410).
• From Omaha, NE – about 2.75 hours, 190 miles: Take I-29 South to I-435 South, then merge onto I-70 West. Exit 410 (110th Street) will lead you directly to the Speedway.
• From Des Moines, IA – about 3 hours, 210 miles: Take I-35 South to I-435 South, then join I-70 West and take Exit 410 to the Speedway.

Important notes for race day:

• Expect heavy traffic and possible delays, especially close to the venue.
• Use all available lanes on State Avenue; attendants will guide you into lots as they open.
• Entry gates along State Avenue close from east to west once lots reach capacity.
• For safety, do not park south of Speedway Boulevard–crossing multiple traffic lanes creates hazards and slows flow.
• Avoid parking at Legends Outlets. Access across State Avenue is restricted until traffic clears, making Speedway lots the faster and safer choice.
