Kansas Speedway is not directly served by a regular public transit system, so most fans choose to drive, camp nearby, or use rideshare services. Still, there are a few options for fans who prefer to rely on buses or trains to get close before completing the final leg by car, taxi, or shuttle.
On major NASCAR weekends, shuttle buses run between designated parking areas, campgrounds, and the Speedway gates. Shuttles typically begin service several hours before the race and continue until the lots are cleared after the event. Expect some lines after the checkered flag, but service generally moves quickly once boarding begins.
Although there are no direct city bus routes to the Speedway, intercity providers like Greyhound and Megabus serve downtown Kansas City, MO, which is about a 20-minute drive from the track. From the bus station, you’ll need a rideshare, taxi, or rental car to complete the trip to the Speedway.
Amtrak trains stop at Kansas City Union Station, also about 20 minutes from the Speedway. Union Station is served by the Southwest Chief line (Chicago–Los Angeles) and the Missouri River Runner (St. Louis–Kansas City). From there, fans can use taxis, rideshares, or rental cars to reach the track.
If you’re arriving in Kansas City by bus or train, it’s a good idea to arrange your rideshare or rental car in advance–especially on race weekends when demand is high.
